Appointments

calendar_penWhen you register with the practice you will be able to consult any of the doctors.

We operate an appointment system which allows patients to book in a number of ways:

  • The majority of appointments are 'book on the day' and we ask that patients telephone the surgery at 8.30am to ensure they can get one of these appointments.
  • We also offer pre bookable appointments up to two weeks in advance, and appointments that can be booked either one or two days ahead. These are usually the first or last appointments on the day. To book a prebookable appointment please telephone after 11am.

Not all doctors work full time and there may be occasions when you cannot see a specific doctor on a specific day.

We are continually monitoring our appointments and we aim to meet patient demands.

The receptionist will usually offer you the next available appointment, but please let her know if you feel the problem is urgent. Urgent cases will be offered an appointment on the same day with the doctor on call.

Please remember that an appointment is for one problem only. If you need to discuss more than one problem, please let the receptionist know and we will endeavour to accommodate your request.

We aim to see patients on time, however on occasions; your clinician may be running late. If this is the case we will aim to see you within 30 minutes of your appointment time. You will be kept informed of any delays in your appointment, if you find the delay unacceptable we will, where possible, offer an alternative clinician or a new appointment at a mutually convenient time.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know, as we are a very busy practice and another patient will be able to benefit from your cancellation.

If you wish to speak to anyone privately, please ask at reception.
