Appointments

Non-urgent advice: Additional Services

We are working with other local practices to provide additional services and appointments for our patients.

This means that we are routinely offering appointments at another practice/location. We encourage patients to accept the appointment recommended by the receptionist for your problem to support the best use of our services.

All of the services offered are part of our practice service regardless of the location they are provided from.

We encourage patients to attend the local pharmacy for minor conditions and ailments.

How can I book an appointment?

If you are regularly seeing a particular clinician or wish to see a specific clinician, we advise booking a routine appointment. We cannot guarantee a specific location or clinician when booking a same day appointment.

Routine GP appointments

We offer routine pre-bookable face to face and telephone consultations that are bookable two weeks in advance. These consultations are not for acutely unwell patients and are for ongoing medical problems that can wait, routine follow ups with a specific clinician or for test results, sick notes and other routine queries.

Online appointments

Online appointments - using Systm Connect (From 8.00am to 6.30pm)

Non urgent, will receive a response within 48hours

We may be able to deal with your problem/query remotely, if you require an appointment, the most appropriate clinician will be offered within a timescale suitable for your problem.

Emergency appointments

Each day we have an emergency on call doctor who deals with patients who have emergency problems that cannot wait until another day. When all our same day appointments are booked for the day and the practice and our extended services are full, our patient advisers will ask you if your problem is urgent for that day.

If your problem requires urgent attention that day, please advise our receptionists who will be able to help you. You will be asked a few questions by our receptionists to help our emergency doctor prioritise their emergency list for the day. Please provide as much information to the receptionist as possible.

Patients will receive a response from the doctor by 6:30pm that same day. Please note – the type of response you receive will be determined by the on call doctor. The response may be a telephone call, a request to attend for a face to face appointment, a message via reception, or information to your mobile/email in response to your problem.

Home visits

Home visits are for housebound or frail patients, and patients who are genuinely too ill to come into the surgery.

Lack of transport is not a valid reason for a home visit.

Where possible, requests for a home visit should be made before 10.30am.

Our patient advisers will ask the reason for the home visit as well as a number of other questions to help our doctors prioritise urgent cases.

Please note - Home visits are triaged by our doctors to the most appropriate clincian, this may be a doctor or a member of our multidisciplinary team such as the community matron, district nurse or paramedic.
